Inside ColorPop: The Photography Workshop That Pushed My Creative Direction

There's a certain point in your creative journey where you stop waiting for permission and start investing in yourself. For me, ColorPop was that investment, two years in the making, actually.

ColorPop is a photography workshop series hosted by Marina Williams, one of the most revered photo educators in the industry. It's where creatives come to shoot at a high level, and walk away with portfolio work and education that changes the trajectory of their career.

Two years ago, I applied when I was pregnant and got accepted the same week I ended up on bed rest. I had to turn it down, and I was devastated. This year, I applied on a whim, and I got accepted again. There was no way I was saying no this time. I felt so much stir within me, how was I going to leave my baby for the first time? It was hard for sure, but I knew I needed to be in the room with Marina Williams. She's one of the most respected photo educators in the game, and I was ready to level up my creative direction.

When I finally walked through those doors, I understood why I was there. All of my mom guilt melted away.

Neon backdrops, thoughtfully curated styling, bold, saturated, unapologetic. Movement that made the colors feel alive. What we walked away with wasn't just a gallery. It was a statement.

These are just a few highlights from ONE of three shoots we did, all in a single day. There's so much more to come!
