Designing for Good: Big Heart Project, an Asheville-Based Nonprofit with a Global Mission

Through our VIP Day, we built a mission-driven site—complete with donation tools, event support, and purpose-driven copy—to help Big Heart Project grow its global impact.

Big Heart Project is a global nonprofit providing veterinary care to animals in need by mobilizing volunteers and working closely with local communities. Their mission is to equip and educate locals with the tools needed to control stray animal populations and improve animal welfare long after the volunteers have gone.

Using my one-day VIP Website process, we designed and launched a custom site that clearly communicates their mission and makes it easy for supporters to take action. The project included donation functionality, an event-ready structure, and intuitive pathways for getting involved—whether through volunteering, fundraising, or spreading awareness. We worked with a pre-existing logo and built a brand experience around it that felt cohesive, modern, and aligned with their values.

To support their voice and mission, I used AI-assisted tools to craft copy that feels heartfelt, educational, and accessible. The final result is a clean, compassionate, and functional website that reflects the heart of their work while supporting future growth. From trip sign-ups to global giving, Big Heart Project is now equipped with a digital presence as impactful as their mission.
